A Story By Teresa

Creepy Crawly Convention

First Grade -- June, 2004

Leader Lady Bug said "Hi. I've gathered you here to discuss changes. Ms. Caterpillar turns into Mrs. Butterfly. Also I called for a race. Rule one: you must fly or walk. Rule two: you must do your part in the world. Rule three: no rule three."

Two insects signed up. Baby bee and snail. "One Go" off they went. Snail was soon far behind moistening gardens. Baby bee didn't follow rule #2 in other words he did not move pollen!

Dragonfly was the judge. He said "Snail won!".

Baby bee cried "hey I came in first snail's still on the track!"

Dragonfly told him, "you cheated."

"No!" cried baby bee.

"Yes!" said Dragonfly "you didn't follow rule two: do your part in the world. Thus Snail won!"
